Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-05-09
This Privacy Policy describes how GenMention (“we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information about you when you use our website at genmention.com and our brand-citation monitoring service (the “Service”).
[REVIEW WITH LAWYER]Replace placeholder details below with your actual jurisdiction, business entity name, and contact email before a formal launch. This skeleton covers Paddle’s requirements and standard SaaS practice but is not legal advice.
1. Information We Collect
Account information
When you create an account we collect your email address, hashed password (or OAuth identifier from Google), display name, and the brands and keywords you configure for monitoring.
Usage data
We collect information about how you use the Service, including pages visited, actions taken, and timestamps. This is used to improve the product and detect abuse.
Payment information
Payments are processed by Paddle.com, our merchant of record. We do not store full payment-card numbers on our servers. Paddle’s privacy policy applies to data they handle.
Cookies
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
2. How We Use Information
- To provide and improve the Service
- To run AI-source scans on the keywords you configure
- To send you the weekly digest email and product notifications
- To process payments and issue invoices
- To respond to support requests
- To detect abuse and enforce our Terms of Service
3. Sharing
We share information only with:
- Supabase (database and authentication infrastructure)
- Paddle (payments and invoicing)
- Resend (transactional and digest email delivery)
- Vercel (web hosting)
- Perplexity, Google (Gemini), and Google Search (we send your configured keywords to these AI services to retrieve their answers — without this the Service cannot function)
We do not sell personal data. We do not share your data with advertising networks.
4. Data Retention
We retain account data for as long as your account is active. Scan results and AI responses are retained for 12 months and then automatically pruned. You may request deletion of your account at any time by emailing [REVIEW: support@genmention.com].
5. Your Rights (GDPR / CCPA)
If you are in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or California, you have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your personal data, and to object to processing. To exercise any of these rights email [REVIEW: privacy@genmention.com].
6. Security
We use industry-standard security including TLS for all network traffic, hashed passwords, row-level security on our database, and least-privilege service accounts. No system is perfectly secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Children
The Service is not intended for users under 16. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
8. Changes
We may update this policy. Material changes will be announced via email or an in-app notice. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page always reflects the current version.
9. Contact
